How to start a new blog, get revenue, and success in 2022?

The year 2021 is perhaps the most difficult year to start blogging or any digital marketing related business. Due to the pandemic, lots of people came to the digital world for doing business. Millions of new blogs were created last year. It made the digital marketplace very competitive. Moreover, all the digital marketers are smart people, it is very difficult to outsmart or outrank them.

Should I start blogging?

Of course, you should if you can. You probably will not generate as much revenue as you have expected. But still, a blog website will start something for you which you can expand in the future. You have to be a lot more creative, informative, and smart in the year 2021 to stay in the competition. Set a goal to write consistently and get AdSense approval. You have to be very patient and consistent because you will not get any revenue for a long time after you have just started blogging. It may take up to one year to get a considerable amount of traffic in your website. 

 

How to start a new blog?

Let’s consider you have great writing skills but you are not a very technical person. You want to start your own blog but you don’t know how to create a blog website, let alone how to generate revenue. Here I would share the footsteps we took to create our own blog (www.costamedic.com/blog).

  • Register in google search console: After creating your first website you must go to google search console to register your new site so that google can index your site.   • How to do SEO: You have created your own website and indexed it into Google. You have perhaps written a few blog posts. But your blog posts are not getting ranked in search engines. One of the main reasons behind this is your SEO (search engine optimization) is poor.   • Improve your domain rating: Even after doing a very good SEO you are still not getting ranked. This happens because everybody is doing SEO and there is a very high competition for certain keywords. Now you need to improve your domain rating. You will get a lot of gigs in Fiverr mentioning backlinks. But never ever buy backlinks. Because people will give you poor backlinks which will hurt your progress in the long run.   • Get Adsense approval: Go for AdSense approval when you have completed at least 15 plagiarism-free high-quality blog posts. You can check for plagiarism using Copyscape (Up to 10% plagiarism might be acceptable). Use pictures available in pixabay or pexels or similar sites that share royalty-free images. Is there any other way to generate revenues?

Besides ad networks there are plenty of other options for generating revenue by blogging. Some are:

  • Affiliate marketing
  • Getting sponsor adds

This question comes to every blogger’s mind. The amount you would earn will depend on many factors. Some important factors are:

  • Niche
  • Traffic amount
  • CPC value of keywords
  • Locations of the visitors
  • Proper use of revenue-generating assets

How to win the competition in 2021?

There is no formula for winning. But I have watched a lot of videos created by top bloggers and read a lot of articles on how to grow a new blog. And, here are some points that might help you to grow bigger than your competitors.

  • Write high-quality informative content. Present your information with charts. Don’t give the wrong information. The information you would provide must be beneficial to someone. Be generous and helpful to the readers.
  • The word count should depend on the topic you are trying to discuss. For example, don’t write 5000 words on ‘how to make espresso coffee’. If you are trying to explain how the human nervous system works then you might write 5000 or more words. One thousand words should be good enough for most of the topics.
  • Try to get good quality backlinks. 
  • Don’t edit your posts every day. Once you have published something let it be settled for a few months. 
  • Do SEO properly.
  • Email marketing is the key to generating leads. 
  • Don’t forget to share your posts every day on multiple social media.
